Hemoglobin is a measure of the oxygen carrying capacity of your blood. We routinely check it with a blood test at the 9 months, 2 years as well as the 4 or 5 years well check up. The blood test is performed by obtaining a drop of blood from a finger poke. It allows us to monitor for anemia and other signs of blood disorders.
