Traveling Overseas with your child Children may need vaccines that we do not routinely give at our well visits. Most children have not had the Hepatitis A vaccine. Many countries recommend malaria prophylaxis for all travelers. Vaccines may also be needed for Typhoid, Japanese Encephalitis, Rabies & Yellow Fever. Please visit the CDC website for traveler's health At the CDC website, please check the specific country that you are planning on visiting and read through their specific recommendations for vaccines and medication. The site also has good information on what you should bring and how to stay healthy on your trip. Call our advice line several months before departure to discuss what vaccines and/or medications are needed. We can inform you about what we offer as well as the local health department. Please make the appropriate pre-travel appointments in our office. Keeping your child safe and healthy is our number one
priority. |
